Granholm signs law targeting gas stations that cheat customers


This is just another in a long line of amazing things she's done. The third paragraph is certainly amazing. I didn't realize that until now, the State couldn't shut down a gas station for screwing its customers.

The last part made me laugh too. The Michigan Legislature passed a law allowing her to lift the 6% sales tax on gas (more on this later) and she's very happy about that. However, she's not going to use it to help us, she's just very glad that she could, but she won't.

The last part about the sales tax on gas (and this isn't even her fault). This is the order in which the prices are stacked for a gallon of gas:
Price of a gallon
Federal tax
State Sales tax
State Exise tax

That's right folks, we get to pay a tax (state sales) on a tax (federal). Would someone please tell me why there isn't an uproar about this?

Ok, enough politicizing. I'll try to keep it less serious, but damn she irks me. Well, 7 months till we can officially vote her out.
