Michigan's Adventure

Well, we went to Michigan's Adventure for the first time this season yesterday after work. I almost feel underwhelmed every time I go. The crowds weren't horrible, but it always feels like I'm missing something when I go. We rode Mad Mouse when we got there, which was fun as always. Somehow I'm ALWAYS on the outside of that first turn, and it's a freaky feeling.

Then we walked back to the TimberTown train station. For once, the train goes somewhere. Grand Rapids had a pretty long line, and was actually broke down (temporarily) when we went past, so we didn't ride nor could we watch the ride in operation. We really just kinda slowly strolled around the park before going back to the car to get our swim gear.

The water park was alright. Management still needs to do something about tubes in the wave pools. There's two solutions. Either designate one wave pool for tubes only and the other two for no tubes, or designate one for no tubes and the other two are mixed. Its just a pain in the ass having a tube bouncing off the side of my head while I'm trying to have fun. The lazy river was alright, a bit crowded but otherwise alright.

Funnel of Fear was a fun ride, but not worth the kind of wait it had. It was the first pro-slide tornado I'd been on, and it was fun. The dark tunnel followed by flying out into the funnel was a great experience. But I was almost dry from waiting in line. Why management didn't spring for the conveyor belt is beyond me. That would have made sense, and all their bigger tube rides (like the family size ones) really need to be retrofit to include conveyors. Oh well.

After the water park, we decided to just head home. Becc can't ride much anymore (back problems) so we certainly weren't going to be riding Timbers, Wildcat or Corkscrew.

It was fun, and hopefully I'll get back out once more this season.
